Compare removal van sizes against a room-by-room inventory, including storage, appliances and outdoor items. Vehicle volume, actual payload, access and the loading team all matter. No van label guarantees that an entire home will fit in one trip.
Removal van dimensions and capacity
The figures below are the reference load boxes used in our move-planning model, reviewed 22 September 2026. They are not measured specifications for every provider vehicle. Volume is length × width × height, rounded to two decimal places; wheel arches, door openings, padding and irregular items reduce usable space.

Confirm actual vehicle suitability before booking. Internal dimensions, payload and fitted equipment vary by model. The permitted load must account for the vehicle, people, fuel and equipment. A 3.5-tonne vehicle label is not a 3.5-tonne goods allowance. Do not assume a tail lift or a particular loading aid is included.
Match the transport to the inventory
- List every room and any garage, shed or storage collection.
- Measure large furniture, including the route through doors and stair turns.
- Provide known weights for unusually heavy items and ask about specialist handling.
- Confirm whether the full load needs another vehicle or trip; do not assume extra journeys are included.
- Check loading positions, vehicle height restrictions and access windows at both ends.

The options shown during booking depend on the move and availability. Van size does not automatically include a particular team. Include loading and unloading in the booked time.
Compare two moving scenarios
Flat to house: check lift dimensions and loading-bay access at the flat, then parking and the carrying route at the house. A larger van does not resolve a narrow stair turn. See flat removals.
