Good value starts with choosing the vehicle, loading help and booked time that fit your belongings and access. A headline price cannot tell you whether those details match your move.

Compare the moving help you need
| Option | May suit | What you need to arrange |
|---|---|---|
| Man and van | A room move, student belongings or a furniture collection. | Choose vehicle space and customer loading or booked loading help. Include the full inventory and access. |
| Removals | A household or office inventory requiring more space and coordination. | List every room and confirm the team, booked time and any additional services. |
| Self-drive hire elsewhere | A move you are able and willing to drive and organise yourself. | Check hire eligibility and terms, collection and return, fuel, loading help and the complete hire cost. FMMV does not offer self-drive hire. |
Understand the price for your actual move
Give both addresses, the moving date, all items, stairs, lift access, carrying distances and any extra stops. Check the selected van, number of vans, loading help and booked time. Changing these details can change the price.
With Find My Man and Van, extra time is charged at the half-hourly rate shown during booking and on your receipt. Applicable parking and route charges are separate. Read how the move price and additional charges work. A lower headline amount alone does not establish poor service or a lower final cost.
Check reviews, cover and support
Read recent reviews for examples of communication, handling and arrival arrangements. Look at the details behind a rating and how concerns were addressed. Find our customer review sources.
Ask what cover applies to your booking, including limits, exclusions, excesses, packing conditions and the procedure for reporting damage. Do not assume an insurance label means every item or circumstance is covered. Read the booking terms and ask about anything unclear before paying.
Keep the written booking details and support contact. A payment method or a low price alone is not proof of reliability or unreliability.
Prepare efficiently without assuming a discount
- Remove items you no longer need from the inventory before requesting a price.
- Measure bulky pieces and confirm the route through doors, stairs and lifts.
- Pack and label boxes, and have the agreed load ready.
- Arrange lawful loading access and confirm building access windows.
- If dates are flexible, check the actual price and availability for each date; a weekday is not guaranteed to cost less.
Use the van size and loading-help guide to prepare your inventory.
Apply the checklist to your area
For a London flat, check the carrying route and lift reservation. For a Birmingham apartment collection, confirm the loading-bay entrance and access window. For a Manchester terrace, measure stair turns and the largest furniture. Use the local guidance and any dated price examples for London, Birmingham or Manchester; match the stated load, help, time and route before treating an example as relevant.
Book the service that fits
Explore our man with a van booking service to arrange your move. For a smaller load, explore man and van services. For a whole household or larger inventory, see removals services. You book through Find My Man and Van, and we allocate a suitable vetted provider after booking. Provider profiles help you understand the service; they do not reserve a named driver.
